The road to the 2024 G3 Korea Sprint continued at Seoul Racecourse on Sunday April 14th with the SBS Sports Sprint (1200M KOR-G3), the second leg of the 2024 Sprint Series, and it was two Korea Sprint alumni who came home 1st and 2nd.
The race was won by BEOLMAUI STAR, who crossed from gate twelve to lead from the start and proceeded to make every post a winning post under jockey Seo Seung-un. Beolmaui Star was runner-up in the 2023 Korea Sprint, four-lengths behind the winner REMAKE, having similarly led that race before being overtaken by the Japan-trained star.
EOMA EOMA won the Korea Sprint in 2022 and the now seven-year-old showed that he is far from done yet, as he launched a late run to get within a length of Beolmaui Star on the line.
Up and coming four-year-old SOMETHING LOST was 3rd although another four-year-old, RAON THE POINT, could only manage 10th, despite having won the opening leg of the Sprint Series, the Busan Ilbo Sprint (1200M KOR-G3) in March.
Attention now turns to the final leg of the Sprint Series, the Seoul Racehorse Owners' Association (SROA) Chairman's Sprint (1200M KOR-G3) at Seoul on Sunday May 19th when the leading domestic contenders for September's Korea Sprint will re-assemble.
